UNEXPECTED FLIGHTS

Concept

February 15th Jane Kirby and Erin Ball present a blend of dance and circus acrobatics. Exploring the relationship between body movement, sensory experience and emotional response the artists push the boundaries of contemporary circus work by merging it with dance and other movement disciplines. The performance will be held at Frontenac Mall starting at 11:15am.

734607_10151377065098181_1091736920_nErin Ball is the owner of Twisted Circus Arts, a Kingston-based circus school and performance company with a focus on aerial acrobatics. She has studied aerials, hooping, partner acrobatics and other disciplines at several fantastic schools. She regularly travels to the New England Center for Circus Arts to further her studies of circus arts. She has performed locally, as well as several other locations across Ontario and in England.

Jane Kirby began her training in circus arts in Halifax and has gone on to teach, train and perform on aerial silks, rope, trapeze, hammock, lyra as well as in other acrobatic disciplines. She now travels regularly to the New England Centre for Circus Arts to study with some of North America’s foremost circus trainers.  She moved to Kingston in 2012 to pursue a PhD degree looking at circus and social justice. She currently teaches at Twisted Circus Arts and performs locally.
